My professional status: contractor at Mission Hall

Website client: Ground Zero

Dates: November 2000

Categories: Client liaison, Project manager, Website designer, Front-end developer, Content-loader, jQuery/JavaScript, Old-school table layout, No CMS, Small sites

Brief: to assist one of Mission Hall's designers in the completion of this website, which was his first web design project.

My responsibilities included:

  • Completion of site build (architecture, navigation, HTML, JavaScript, content layout, frames)
  • De-bugging pages already created
  • Development and colour-matching of graphics to maintain consistency across the site and to look good on monitors displaying 256 colours
  • Testing site thoroughly for browser compatibility on Mac and PC, and including a range of monitors sizes and resolutions
  • Liaison with client throughout the design process.

I was initially called in to fix a wayward .gif, but ended up spending a couple of days on this website, fixing bugs and developing the navigation system - as well as teaching the designer some of the secrets of web design using Dreamweaver.
